Contractors Linked to BuildTREND & Shawn Gerety

We have heard from a number of BuildTREND's suppliers and subcontractors since starting this blog.  His victims are not just customers from whom he has collected deposits and progress payments but also plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cabinet-makers, flooring suppliers, and other trades who may have legitimate businesses that have been injured when BuildTREND has failed to pay on time for their work.

    1. There is public information about a Delaware County PA civil lawsuit against Shawn Gerety and BuildTREND Construction by a victim named Ruane.

The attorney representing Ruane in that lawsuit is:

      Anthony S. Pinnie, Esq.
      334 W. Front St.
      Media, PA 19063
      610-892-9200

Try contacting the Attorney General as they regulate contractors and have a group that can help consumers. We have just filed a complaint with the AG. HIC@attorneygeneral.gov is the email address for matters relating to home improvement contractors.

Does anyone know whether rbsf construction is part of this scam? They have been the project manager and claim to have been scammed too. They are now yrying to offer to complete projects but can they be trusted? Would love to hear views. Thanks.

Garvin is part of the scam. He has been aware of Shawn's business practices for some time.

  5. This is Jim from The Electrical Experts LLC. My company, as well as Garvin from RSBF construction were brought in later to finish projects. My company has completed 3 out of 4 projects and have never been paid for them. My reputation as a small business electrical contractor is impeccable. I have several references to back me up here. I'm writing in this blog to stand up for Garvin and his part in this. Shawn and Buildtrend went bankrupt causing many of his clients to have paid more than they should have and not enough work completed and we're screwed. Again, Garvin has done nothing but come in well after contracts were signed and deposits were made and after waiting months no work being done, to try to help all of these poor homeowners get what they deserve. Which is a completed job. Garvin, was not or is not in any way affiliated with Buildtrend whatsoever. I will put my reputation on the line for this man period. We as contractors are willing to stand behind every contract that we were a part of to prosecute Shawn to the fullest extent of the law. In addition to this statement I am making, we are also going to be putting together our own lawsuit against Buildtrend for money owed to us. And it is a very great amount. We pay our employees. We paid for your material. Not Shawn. We will stand with you people and fight Shawn Gerrity until he has nothing left. My phone number is 6103121605. I will be happy to provide plenty of references to anybody who asks. We are here to help. Not hurt.

    1. Jimmy, when you were around our project for Buildtrend it seemed like you were in touch with Shawn by phone and text many times throughout the day.

Where do you think all the customer money he collected actually went?

    2. Karl, I apologize for not being able to push this d-bag Shawn into getting the job done. I was under the impression that when we got done I was going to get paid. I tried numerous times to get him to get a start date. That also is when Garvin started getting involved with Shawn. I'm sure that you still have my number. It is listed in the above post as well. Please feel free to call me. I understand that you are looking to wrap up your project soon.

We have the required proof that Garvin has been paid $50,000 for one particular project in Conshohocken in which he never started. You may be partnering with the wrong person. Regarding you your comments and your exceedingly high contractor pricing that you subsequently reduced by 50% knowing full well it was extremely overpriced is another reason we are in this situation. Our company relied on quality subcontractors and thus far we haven't been able to find any. .

    1. This name comes up as anonymous. I gave my name and number and info. If you have proof about Garvin being a scam artist please post it as well. Not sure what is exceedingly high. If you happen to be talking about me. I'd like to know what was quoted to whomever. I personally as president and chief operator of the electrical experts have never had to drop a quote by 50%. Please provide documentation for these allegations. Again I am James Fishbourne of The Electrical Experts LLC and my personal cell phone number is 6103121605. I have nothing to hide.

    All,

Please do your homework before posting malicious and accusatory information

Check public records for Lawsuit - Trend Consulting Group vs Buildtrend and you'll find public lawsuit records that show Vincent Cottrell and his company were hired as a third part project management support team and are not liable nor affiliated with Buildtrend, Shawn Gerety, or any/all of Shawn Gerety's/Buildtrend's actions or business practices, same can be said for any/all faulty contractors mentioned

Vincent Cottrell and his company were awarded judgement against Shawn Gerety and Buildtrend in Delaware County Pennsylvania Court and are therfore released from any and all liabilities from Shawn Gerety and Buildtrend's projects herein

Vincent Cottrell and his company have gone above and beyond and work diligently through their legal team to support any investigation against Buildtrend as Vincent Cottrell and his company did their best to help all client's projects they were contracted to manage in spite of short comings of the builders they've been contracted by.

Trend Consulting Group is a third party not at risk agency that works to improve construction project management for owners, however when a contractor fails to pay their contractors, or perform quality work/ hold to deadlines the third part agency as aforementioned is powerless to manage projects and therefore must remove themselves from said relationship which is precisely what Vincent Cottrell and Trend Consulting Group has done.

Please Note: Joseph Dougherty of Lyons Dougherty is the law firm representing Vincent Cottrell and Trend Consulting Group

Be aware there is a matter of defamation liability that each party posting speculative information posting false propiganda in order to satisfy personal anger so please make sure you are posting factual information if at all moving forward
